Applying to Credo

There are three easy steps to apply for Credo 2019:

  1. Fill out the preliminary information form. This allows us to have direct communication with you! We can send you current information about the program, answer all your questions, and assist you throughout the application process.

  2. Complete and submit an application form (including any financial aid documents), request your audition slot, and pay the application fee. We will send you a link for this application once you fill out the preliminary contact form. On your application be sure to include the complete contact information for the person who will be providing a written recommendation on your behalf. (We will contact them directly for the recommendation).

  3. Audition for Credo’s Artistic Director Peter Slowik, either in person or via an online video platform (see details below.)

Credo has a “Rolling Admissions” policy - Students are accepted into the program as we match them with suitable chamber music partners – the earlier you apply, the easier it will be to offer you the most appropriate chamber music placement. The final date to apply is March 25. All students will be notified of their acceptance by April 1.

Once you have been accepted to Credo 2019, you will need to submit a $400 non-refundable tuition deposit within two weeks.

Audition Information

All students must audition for admission and placement.

Credo is the most personally directed summer music experience available. Our audition process reflects that personal attention. Rather than reviewing a video, we arrange for each applicant to have a 30-minute audition session with Credo’s Artistic Director Peter Slowik. These consultations will be either in person (see locations below) or arranged via a mutually-agreed electronic media (skype, facetime, zoom, etc). The sessions will consist of three parts: student performance, a mini-lesson from Mr. Slowik, and consultation with the student/family about their musical development and how Credo might fit into their plans.

All applicants are required to audition with two pieces or movements in contrasting styles; one piece should demonstrate technical abilities, while another could showcase melodic abilities. Piano accompaniment is not required. Credo does not supply accompanists for auditions, but you may use one if you feel the need.
